However, studies of other behavioral outcomes with heritable components have yielded null results until much larger sample sizes were amassed (e.g., (Wray et al., 2018)). Follow-up is warranted, preferably using samples assessed during adolescence, contemporaneous with initial alcohol use. Furthermore, assessment of multiple ancestry groups is critical for clarifying the extent to which phenotypic differences are influenced by genetic factors.
