For all MANOVAs (MANCOVA) performed, the Pillai-Bartlet trace was used as the test statistic. Mauchly’s tests of sphericity were carried out on the repeated measures variables, and where violated, Greenhouse-Geisser correction to the degrees of freedom was applied. Follow-up analyses were performed to investigate significant MANOVA (MANCOVA) effects. Univariate ANOVAs (ANCOVAs), with each of the dependent variables taken independently, and discriminant analyses, with the dependent variables taken as the predictors in the discriminant function, were used for these post-hoc analyses. Bonferroni corrections for multiple comparisons were not applied to any of the analyses.
