the inclusion of trauma related questions in different sections of the interview increased the likelihood of accurately identifying trauma-exposed participants, this method did not allow us to get a count of the number of events experienced, as it would be possible to endorse items in different sections of the interview in reference to the same event. Finally, the sample was ascertained from an urban population, with low-income neighborhoods oversampled by design, so findings may not generalize to Black and White girls in non-urban or higher income populations.
