MRI data were acquired using a Siemens Skyra 3T scanner (Siemens Healthcare, Erlangen, Germany) using a standard 32-channel head coil, according to a freely available protocol (http://www.fmrib.ox.ac.uk/ukbiobank/protocol/V4_23092014.pdf). As part of the scanning protocol, high-resolution T1-weighted images, three-dimensional T2-weighted fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) images, and diffusion data were obtained. High-resolution T1-weighted images were obtained using an MPRAGE sequence with the following parameters: TR = 2000 ms; TE = 2.01 ms; 208 sagittal slices; flip angle, 8°; FOV = 256 mm; matrix = 256 × 256; slice thickness = 1.0 mm (voxel size 1 × 1 × 1 mm); total scan time = 4 min 54 s. 3D FLAIR images were obtained with the following parameters: TR = 1800 ms; TE = 395.0 ms; 192 sagittal slices; FOV = 256 mm; 256 × 256; slice thickness = 1.05 mm (voxel size 1.05 × 1×1 mm); total scan time = 5 min 52 s. Diffusion acquisition comprised a spin-echo echo-planar sequence with 10 T2-weighted (b ≈ 0 s mm−2) baseline volumes, 50 b = 1000 s mm−2 and 50 b = 2000 s
