of time-varying covariates for variables of adolescent functioning rather than the baseline covariates used in the Goldston et al. study. It may also be due to the differences in the follow-up interval as the Goldston et al. study incorporated a 5-year interval. Further, it should also be noted that the inability to detect interactions is not at all an indication that they do not exist, just that our study does not provide sufficient evidence to make any definitive conclusions about them. Our findings suggest that all identified risk factors are individually important and should be assessed and targeted for intervention as a strategy for preventing future suicide attempts.
