The CDP collected data on externalizing behavior using Achenbach’s Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), Youth/Young Adult Self Report (YSR/YASR), and Teacher Report Form (TRF). We had available and utilized maternal reports on externalizing from the CBCL for every year at ages 6–17 (12 consecutive years); teacher reports for ages 6–13 (8 consecutive years); and self-reports for ages 12, 14–17, and 19–22 (9 non-consecutive years). Although behavioral data were available for children at age 5, that wave of reports was excluded from latent factors to avoid temporal overlap with our environmental risk measure, which was assessed up to and including age 5 (see below).
