It is well established that the use of tobacco products or exposure to second-hand smoke has detrimental effects on physical health including an increased risk of heart disease, cancer, stroke, and chronic lung disease. In the United States, cigarette smoking accounts for 30% of all cancer deaths and for nearly 80% of deaths from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease [2], [3]. It is also the primary causal factor for early cardiovascular disease and deaths [2].
