For our empirical application of MTAG, we build on a recent study by the Social Science Genetic Association Consortium (SSGAC) of three traits that have been found to be highly polygenic and strongly genetically related: depressive symptoms (DEP), neuroticism (NEUR), and subjective well-being (SWB). In these analyses, we combine data from the largest previously published studies7–9,11 with new genome-wide analyses from the genetic testing company 23andMe, Inc., and the first release of the UK Biobank (UKB) data.
