Predictors of susceptibility to peer influence regarding substance use in adolescence.

Text

Finally, this study focused entirely upon early and mid-adolescence—a period during which peer pressure and peer influence are believed to be rapidly peaking. This may well account for the stronger influence findings obtained in this study as compared to other similar studies that assessed adolescents across a much broader age range (e.g., Jaccard et al., 2005). Whether and how these findings might generalize to other phases of adolescent development clearly warrants consideration in future research.
