Chunk #21 — Discussion

Source
The relationship between neuroticism, major depressive disorder and comorbid disorders in Chinese women.

Text

Personality factors, including neuroticism, are known to vary across cultures, and there are varying, sometimes conflicting, explanations offered (Allik and McCrae, 2004; Barrett and Eysenck, 1984; Hofstede and McCrae, 2004; Lynn and Martin, 1995). However explaining cross-cultural variation with respect to China is particularly difficult because there has been relatively little research into personality (psychology was only reinstated as an approved discipline in the PRC in the 1980s).
