al., 2007). In this study, we substituted CSD signals for q(r→) to calculate a spatial LFP profile, LFPcal, that a given CSD configuration would generate in response to tones of each frequency. For each recording site, we calculated the similarity, SXCorr, of profiles between the observed LFP, LFPobs, and LFPcal, SXCorr were derived for responses to all tones. Like tuning curves, SXCorr as a function of tone frequency in all recording sites was summarized by align their BFMUA to zero. See Supplemental Experimental Procedures for the detail of volume conduction analyses.
