Chunk #17 — Materials and methods — Tau pathology drives mis-localization and pathological deposition of phospho-SRRM2 into tau lesions

Source
Pathological tau drives ectopic nuclear speckle scaffold protein SRRM2 accumulation in neuron cytoplasm in Alzheimer's disease.

that pSRRM2 mis-localization to the cytoplasm occurs in neurons as a result of pathological tau accumulation leading to neurodegeneration accompanied by mis-localization of pSRRM2. Further, these data suggest a hypothesis where cytoplasmic pSRRM2 marks a new subtype of neuropathological lesion associated with pathological tau in AD.
