some progress teasing apart causality. Although still quite preliminary, there is more progress in this domain compared to studies using behavioral and self-report measures of impulsivity, where very limited progress has been made. Finally, to truly understand causality among these numerous components of impulsivity and the development of AUDs, we must first come to a consensus on our definitions of impulsivity, thus facilitating a smoother connection to be made across studies and a platform to build upon existing findings to meaningfully incorporate biological evidence.
