To investigate the potential effect of SNX27 KO on fast GABAA currents, we measured the spontaneous fIPSCs in VTA DA neurons of SNX27DA KO mice (Bocklisch et al., 2013). Neither the mean amplitude nor instantaneous frequency appeared to be different in the SNX27DA KO mice, as compared to Dat-Cre+/− mice (see Supplemental Table 1). Thus, selective disruption of SNX27 expression in VTA DA neurons appears to preferentially affect GABABR-activated GIRK currents.
