Trend tests were performed in order to identify markers with significant pair-wise allele frequency differences between populations. The resulting p-values were subjected to Bonferroni correction and the significance threshold was set at p<0.05, although the multiple testing which arises from the pair-wise comparisons was not taken into account. The “inflation factor” λ of the Genomic Control method [19] was calculated using HelixTree (Golden Helix, Inc. Bozeman, MT, USA, HelixTree® Software; www.goldenhelix.com).
