AquaPolymount mounting solution (Polysciences Inc., #18606-20) was equilibrated to room temperature. One drop (~20 μl) of mounting solution was placed onto each slide and the coverslips was gently lowered onto the slide by facing neuron side down. Mounted coverslips were air-dried in the dark overnight at room temperature. Coverslips were imaged with a Zeiss LSM 780 microscope.
