Both of these disorders also demonstrated higher neuroticism, which might, in part, explain the co-occurrence [23]. Similar to that seen in our study, the prevalence of migraine is also higher in females in the general population than males (19.1% vs. 9%) [24], though this comorbidity has a lower overall prevalence compared to that present in bipolar patients (8.4% in females and 2.8% in males).
