A number of studies have assessed effects of pharmacological activation or blockade of KORs on ethanol consumption using models of home-cage drinking (Table 2). Most of these studies involved free-choice drinking using a 2-bottle paradigm (ethanol vs. water), with ethanol consumption measured under either continuous or limited access conditions.
