Hz. Following filtering, spikes were detected using an amplitude threshold set at twice the standard deviation of the bandpass filtered signal. Initial sorting was performed automatically using Kilosort (Pachitariu et al., 2016). The results were refined via manual sorting based on waveform characteristics, PCA and inter-spike interval histogram. Clusters were classified as single units if well separated from noise and other units and the spike rate in the 2ms following each spike was less than 1% of the average spike rate.
