The Hep3B, PLC/PRF/5 and HepG2 human HCC cell lines were obtained from the Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Shanghai, China). The MHCC97H cells were obtained from Fudan University (Shanghai, China). The Huh7 cells were a kind gift from Prof. Kefeng Dou (Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery, Xijing Hospital, Fourth Military Medical University). Hep3B and PLC/PRF5 cells were cultured in complete MEM medium with 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS). MHCC97H and Huh7 cells were grown in DMEM with 10% FBS. HepG2 cells were cultured in RPMI 1640 medium with 10% FBS. All HCC cells were grown in a humidified incubator with 5% CO2 at 37°C.
