A previous study from our group that applied linkage analysis to affected relatives with the restricting type of AN yielded significant evidence for a susceptibility locus in the 1p33–36 region [Grice et al., 2002]. In addition, enhancements to traditional linkage analyses that have incorporated key behavioral covariates such as drive for thinness and obsessionality have resulted in suggestive linkages on chromosomes 1, 2, and 13 [Devlin et al., 2002].
