In addition to cannabis involvement, substance use and misuse, as a whole, different psychopathologies such as MDD and conduct disorder, and childhood sexual abuse should be considered in the etiology of STBs. Relatedly, despite the inclusion of several important confounders, the possibility that an unmeasured covariate was responsible for this association cannot be excluded.
