An additional aspect to be taken into consideration in GWAS is the potential role of G × E and gene–gene (G × G) interactions in the etiology of ADHD. As the exploratory analysis by Sonuga-Barke et al. (2008) shows, this type of analysis will help to further delineate mechanisms moderating disease severity and those leading to disease.
