Each treatment group shown on the bar graph is aligned with a corresponding area of relative expression seen in the gene cluster to reinforce the concept of the dual ability of ibandronate to prevent alcohol-induced bone loss and modulate alcohol-sensitive gene expression in bone. PANTHER analysis of this signature revealed that 11 genes showing both differential alcohol-related expression and normalization of expression with concurrent alcohol plus ibandronate treatment associate with the integrin-signaling pathway. In Table 3, we show the expression levels and p values for the 11 gene hits in the integrin pathway co-modulated by alcohol and ibandronate.
