5 × 106 Huh7 cells were transfected using control or CtBP2 expressing plasmids before being subcutaneously injected into the flanks of 4-week-old male BALB/c nude mice (Centre of Laboratory Animals, The Medical College of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an, China). Tumor sizes were measured weekly using calipers and calculated with the following formula: volume = A × B2 × 0.52 (A, length; B, width; all measurements were in millimeters). After four weeks, the mice were sacrificed by cervical dislocation under anesthesia. All in vivo experimental protocols were approved by the institutional animal care and use committee of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University.
