Adolescent girls reported significantly higher levels of withdrawal-related irritability compared to all other groups. Rates of irritability were elevated across the entire age-range of adolescent girls (15–21) ranging from 52.3% in 19 year old girls up to 67.4% in 16 year old girls. Adolescent boys were significantly less likely to report increased appetite compared to all other groups and to report higher rates of sleep problems compared to adult female smokers.
