Our analysis was based on current smokers to ascertain the relationship between rs1051730–rs16969968 genotype and both daily cigarette consumption and cotinine levels. Median cotinine levels in current smokers increased with each copy of the minor allele (rs1051730 T, rs16969968 A), typically by about 140 nmol/L (range = 45–255 nmol/L) (Table 2).
