Recent studies suggest that insulin resistance in obesity is linked to changes in DA turnover3536. We, therefore, explored DA turnover in FoxO1 KODAT mice by examining the expression of enzymes, catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT) and monoamine oxidase b (MAO-b), which catalyse the conversion of dopamine into 3-methoxytyramine (3-MT) and 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid (DOPAC), respectively. However, FoxO1 KODAT mice showed comparable COMT and MAO-b expression suggesting that the DA turnover might not be changed in KO mice (Supplementary Fig. 5a–d).
