Figure 2 shows insulin's effects on plasma FFA level and whole body R d′. Tesaglitazar treatment did not correct the elevation in basal FFA but induced a remarkable amelioration in the defects in insulin mediated suppression of plasma FFA and stimulation of R d′ involving both increased responsiveness (maximum effect) and sensitivity (leftward shift) to insulin.
