Comparing growth trajectories of risk behaviors from late adolescence through young adulthood: an accelerated design.

Text

Findings revealed gender effects for the levels of risk behaviors but not for the shape of the trends over time. As in other studies (e.g., Chen & Jacobson, 2012), young men reported higher levels of all risk behaviors. However, once risk behavior was established, both genders followed the same course. The only exception was deviance, with women showing a slower decrease than did men.
