(F(2, 142) = 4.94, P = 0.008, ηp2 = 0.07). Follow-up pairwise comparisons on the groups' adjusted means revealed, however, that while induced theta ERS in both STAA and LTAA were still larger than NAC (both P ≤ 0.01; d = 0.61 and 0.49, respectively), STAA and LTAA no longer differed from each other (P = 0.66, d = 0.11). Finally, to examine whether this group difference in task prestimulus theta power may be related to general baseline levels of theta activity, resting EEG theta power was compared between groups via a univariate ANOVA. Resting EEG theta power (log-transformed), group means (±SE) were NAC: 0.71 ± 0.03, LTAA: 0.71 ± 0.04, STAA: 0.76 ± 0.05. Levels of resting theta power did not significantly differ between groups (F(2, 140) = 0.46, P = 0.63, ηp2 = 0.007).
