Alcohol dependence symptoms were most strongly associated with peer group deviance (r = 0.37) and antisocial behavior (r = 0.30). The associations with the drinking motive subscales drinking for enhancement effects (r = 0.26) and drinking for social reasons (r = 0.22) were also notable.
