For GWA meta-analyses, discriminating different magnitudes of effect size can sometimes be problematic. The detected associations are usually (but not always) so modest in terms of effect size that it is difficult to differentiate and rank them with certainty. Effect sizes would be important to know with precision, if this information were to be used successfully for predictive risk modelling [32].
