PAC was estimated in EEG recordings from midfrontal channel FZ for every 30 s of EEG data. The 30 s EEG segments were decomposed into time-frequency representations in real and imaginary planes by wavelet transform using complex Morlet wavelet with number of cycles parameter in Gaussian width set to 7. PAC estimates were calculated for phase frequencies between 0.1 and 13 Hz, and amplitude frequencies between 4 and 50 Hz using 1 Hz window width at 0.1 Hz step to generate high resolution comodulograms.
