Text

Health, slightly fewer (~53%) of respondents reported ever smoking regularly, and these respondents smoked ~11 cigarettes per day on average (Supplementary Table 14). For each of our five phenotype scores, we used variants that overlapped with HapMap3 (~1.1 million) to construct the scores. Prediction accuracy was estimated using ordinary least squares regression of a given phenotype (AgeSmk, CigDay, SmkInit, SmkCes, or DrnkWk) on the polygenic score and covariates including age, sex, age × sex interaction, and the first ten genetic principle components.
