To date, reproductive correlates of alcohol use and misuse have been reported in two relatively distinct literatures—research linking adolescent drinking with risky sexual behavior predictive of early childbearing, and studies of reproductive dysfunctions in adult drinkers suggestive of delayed childbearing. The present study is the first to report on the relationship between lifetime history of alcohol dependence (AD) and reproductive onset examined across reproductive development.
