For psychiatric disorders, there were significant differences in some psychiatric comorbidities among groups. Overall, MDs and M/HDs both had a higher prevalence of current and lifetime psychotic disorders (both independent and substance-induced). No significant differences were found between these two groups and schizophrenia was the main disorder in independent psychotic disorders. HDs were more likely to have current and lifetime substance-induced mood disorders. There was no statistically significant differences in independent mood disorders, any anxiety disorders, somatoform disorders and eating disorders among the three groups respectively.
