Data reported in this paper were collected from both prevention and control families as part of the evaluation of the SAAF preventive intervention. Risk behaviors were assessed when the youth were 11 (pretest), 12 (posttest), and 14 (long-term follow-up) years old; genetic data were obtained 2 years after the long-term follow-up assessment. Below, we briefly describe subject recruitment and enrollment, intervention implementation and fidelity, and data collection procedures, which are described extensively in earlier reports on SAAF’s efficacy (4-7).
