Neuroimaging and neuropsychological evidence has shown that the cerebellum contributes to episodic memory processes, and patients with cerebellar lesions have been reported to suffer from episodic memory deficits (Gottwald et al., 2004; Mathiak et al., 2004; Weis et al., 2004). Thus, in the future, we may investigate the neural correlates of episodic memory in view of brain networks, combining the cerebellar network and the DMN.
