of European ancestry, but a wide range of educational backgrounds consistent with socioeconomic class diversity was represented in the sample (see eTable 2). Most respondents were married. The mean (SD) age at interview was 37.2 (2.3) years for twins and 40.6 (6.3) years for siblings. The mean (SD) number of twin and sibling participants per family was 2.9 (1.2). The breakdown of twins by zygosity and sex was as follows: 400 monozygotic (MZ) females (including 176 complete pairs), 177 MZ males (76 pairs), 367 dizygotic (DZ) females (157 pairs), 165 DZ males (66 pairs), and 423 DZ opposite-sex twins (169 pairs). Twins include 899 from high-risk families and 633 from control families.
