As can be seen in Figure 1, large differences in developmental trajectories between males and females were found; scalp location and task modality differences within males and females were smaller than the sex differences. The figure illustrates both the mean ERO values across the age range (top row) and the rates of change of these values (bottom row) (Chorlian et al., 2015, Section 3.1). Variation in phenotypic correlations (Chorlian et al., 2015, Figure 2) suggests that the phenotypes fall into four groups distinguished by sex and modality.
