Y′ is calculated for each background iteration, and these background deviations are used to compute a bias-corrected deviation as Y − mean(Y′). A deviation Z-score is computed by dividing the bias-corrected deviation by the standard deviation of the background raw deviations for each iteration: Y-mean(Y′)sd(Y′).
