The average pre-post effect size estimate (Hedges’ g) based on the 39 studies was 0.63 (95% CI: 0.53-0.73, p < .01) for reducing anxiety, and 0.59 (95% CI: 0.51-0.66, p < .01) for reducing depression. The details of these analyses are depicted in Tables 2 and 3.
