Table 1 displays the descriptive statistics for all variables used in the subsequent analyses. The four variables were all modestly to moderately (−.09 − .44) correlated with each other in the expected directions. For example, higher levels of alcohol use were associated with higher levels of peer deviance, lower scores of parental knowledge and greater number of stressful life events.
