large effect (RR=3.93, 95% CI: 2.52, 6.14, z=6.02, p<0.001) with minimal heterogeneity [Q(6)=6.50, p=0.37, I2=7.51%] among non-active comparison trials. For active comparison trials, a moderate effect was observed (RR=1.71, 95% CI: 1.29, 2.25, z=3.77, p<0.001), with minimal heterogeneity [Q(2)=1.14 p=0.57, I2=0%]. Visual inspection of the funnel plot and Egger’s test (t=0.24, p=0.85) for bias indicated that publication bias was not present.
