and analysis degrees of freedom (Han et al., 2006), voxel geometry and amount of acceleration (Wonderlick et al., 2009), as well as their robustness and sensitivity for detecting correlations with cognitive measures that are stable across scan session, scanner manufacturer and field strength (Dickerson et al., 2008). Taken together, this wide array of studies gives us confidence that we are in fact measuring the thickness of the cortical gray matter in a manner that is accurate and stable to an array of acquisition variables in a neurobiologically meaningful and clinically relevant manner.
