We additionally performed an association analysis of all of the 32 published BMI loci identified via the GIANT consortium (Table 4) [39]. Overall, we observed associations (defined as p<0.01) at 7/32 loci, the majority of which overlapped for SAT and were all direction-consistent with the exception of VAT/SAT ratio at NEGR1. We observed very few associations with VAT, with the exception of FTO and NRXN3.
