For the ash, mash and mash-bmalite methods, an association was considered significant if the lfsr16 was less than 0.05. For all metasoft approaches included in the simulation experiments (FE, RE2, BE), p values were computed as described in 9,14. The metasoft p value threshold was varied to assess performance in the simulation experiments (Fig. 2).
