Several studies have reported that patients with AUDs (Rupp et al., 2006) and binge drinkers (Sneider et al., 2013; Vinader-Caerols et al., 2017) have memory deficits. In particular, studies using the Rey-Osterrieth Complex Figure Test (RCFT; Rey, 1941; Osterrieth, 1944), which evaluates visual memory, have consistently found poor performance on the immediate and delayed recall conditions of the RCFT in patients with AUDs (Dawson and Grant, 2000; Daig et al., 2010; Paikkatt et al., 2014) and binge drinkers (Hartley et al., 2004; Squeglia et al., 2009; Winward et al., 2014).
