From the current UK Biobank release, we identified nine modes that were highly significant (Pcorrected<0.002, no further modes significant at Pcorrected<0.05). Similar methodology using Human Connectome Project (HCP) data previously identified a single statistically-significant mode of population covariation in 461 young healthy adults8, 34. Our ability to identify more modes than in the HCP dataset could be due to the tenfold increase in the number of subjects, the larger range of imaging modalities and non-imaging variables, and the older subject ages.
